{"id":497,"date":"2018-03-27T22:44:42","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T20:44:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/superconductingelectronics.org\/superconductingsummerschool\/?page_id=497"},"modified":"2025-03-02T10:30:20","modified_gmt":"2025-03-02T09:30:20","slug":"2016-summer-school","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/superconductingelectronics.org\/superconductingsummerschool\/2016-summer-school\/","title":{"rendered":"2016 school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>2016 Summer school about Superconducting Electronics<\/strong> is intended for\u00a0students, engineers and researchers who want to get familiar with Superconducting Electronics and its applications.<\/p>\n<p>It took place on <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">September 25-30, 2016<\/span> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotelflamingosardinia.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hotel Flamingo<\/a>, Pula, in the south of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sardinia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sardinia<\/a>, the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.<br \/>\nIt focused on delivering lectures starting from the basics to several\u00a0specific topics.<\/p>\n<p>Four\u00a0main topics were considered :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>detectors (THz detectors, SIS mixers, Hot Electron Bolometers (HEB), Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detectors (MKIDs), SNSPDs, &#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>SQUIDs (physics, fabrication, applications,&#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>superconducting electronics including digital electronics principles, design and layout tools, practicals<\/li>\n<li>cryogeny and cryogenic systems (main properties, available systems, handling)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each attending student was required to make\u00a0a\u00a0poster presentation showing his current work or interest.
